Welcome is a comedy movie directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, and Feroz Khan in major roles. It's about the marriage of Akshay and Katrina's characters and the opposition to that marriage by their families. One being from a strict and educated family while the is from a gangster family. Akshay's been hitting us with so many comedy movies lately. Who would think that Mr. Khiladi would one day be a funny man.

Music of is composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Anand Raj Anand. Thanks to Anand's participation, we only get to hear Himesh in one song. However, it's Anand who is singing 3 of the songs this time. Fortunately, his voice is not as annoying :)

Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’ is an interesting, engrossing and entertaining watch. The movie is a rare experiment, comprising of ten different short stories by six directors.

The tales in ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’ almost reminded me of short stories by O Henry. Though there is no Henry-esque humour in the film, every story has some coincidence, contrived circumstance, or a twist in the tale. And the best part is that every short film has been shot and presented realistically, lending a strong credibility to each tale.

The technical aspects are much better. Pushan Kripalani's camerawork is eye-pleasing. The dense forests are well captured on celluloid. The background score is interesting as well.

Jimmy Shergill makes a sincere attempt and strikes a chord. Kabir Sadanand's dialect is jarring, although his performance is sparkling. Farid Amiri is miscast. Kim Sharma has no role. Vinod Nagpal is okay. Mahek sizzles in the item song. Vallabh Vyas [Kabir's father] is functional.

Synopsis

A film by Dilip Sood starring Jimmy Shergill, Kim Sharma, Mahak, Kabir Sadanand and Farid Amiri.

Against the wishes of his girlfriend Rashmi (Kim Sharma) and college professor Saxena (Ahmed Khan), who think that the subject is too dangerous for a college project, Ravi planned the trip. And Sunny eagerly joined in perceiving it as a fun trip.

And surely fun it was when they began… But as they got deeper into the jungle their courage and beliefs were put to test. And then unprecedented happened…When their deepest fears and worst nightmares start to come true.

An ordinary life was the last thing Ravi wanted. Regular or run-of-the mill was never that he would do. That is why Ravi, along with his two friends decides to venture into something…..which changed his life forever.

The title should always summarize the content of a film. Besides, the promotion should always send out the right signals vis-à-vis what the film has to offer in terms of content. With a title like CHHODON NAA YAAR, you expect a film on male bonding, a la DIL CHAHTA HAI. Also, with songs like 'Kasak' and 'Talwar Re' being beamed on channels 24 x 7, you expect CHHODON NAA YAAR to be an entertainer with emphasis on music.

When Ravi (Jimmy Sheirgill), Shiv (Kabir) and Sunny (Farid), three final year students from a Delhi Mass Com College decide to make their diploma film about a myth prevalent in the northern hills of India, least did they know that the myth could well turn out to be the truth. The stark and most starling truth of their lives.

As mentioned above, the writing is the culprit here. Besides the questions that continue to haunt you vis-à-vis the aatma, the character sketch of the three friends is also weird. The film begins with the three posing as actors, then participating in an item song for a film and then, we're told, they're students who aspire to be film-makers. Really hard to digest!
